Mike Allen, Willie Bicket and I are all former Gurkha Officers, with extensive knowledge and experience in running and organising personalised trips to the beautiful, remote and unspoilt parts of Nepal and the adjoining Himalayan areas of Bhutan, Tibet and Sikkim. Jagdish Rai, also a former Gurkha Officer, manages our company, Insight Himalaya Treks.
Jagdish and his family are responsible for the day to day management of our highly trained teams of guides, cooks and porters.

This can include trekking into areas and along routes seldom frequented by tourists, with some of the most spectacular and varied mountain scenery in the world; rafting and fishing the beautiful Himalayan rivers; exploring the superb lowland National Parks of Nepal with their abundant wildlife; or sightseeing with emphasis on the cultural and ethnic aspects of the diverse Himalayan region. For those who enjoy the less strenuous aspects of outdoor life, we can also arrange a more relaxed itinerary with stays in comfortable resorts with excellent facilities. The climate, excellent light and colour does provide superb opportunities for photography.

Currently we recommend you fly to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, on Qatar Airways, who operate a daily service from London’s Heathrow Airport. They have a modern fleet of aircraft, their on-board service is good and their schedules have proved to be reliable. For those based outside the UK, we can advise on the best alternative flights to fit in with your itinerary and to give you the best value for money.
