Off The Beaten Trail Treks
ImageDudhkunda Trek
Trek duration: 10 nights / 11 days
Difficulty: Moderate

The Dudhkunda area is some 135 km to the north east of Kathmandu, east of the great Rolwaling mountains and west of Everest, between the Dudh Kosi river to the east and the Tamba Kosi to the west.  It is away from the heavily trekked upper Everest Region above Lukla.

ImageThe Holy Lake, Dudhkunda – Milky Lake, is cradled below the massifs of Numbur, Khotang and Karyolung peaks, all close to 7,000 metres. You first fly in by helicopter to a remote airstrip south of Everest and then begin your trek through a sacred valley rich in flora, birds and mammals through unspoilt forests and friendly villages, set amidst spectacular mountain scenery.

If the weather is clear, you should have good views of Mount Everest and its surrounding peaks, looking east up to the Solu Valley.  In the Spring, the Rhododendrons, Primulas and other Spring flowers will be in bloom.
